What is your process when working with a new student?
Our instructors first learn what kind of music the student enjoys, and what their individual goals are. All of our lessons are individually designed around the goals of the student, while also building a strong foundation of technique, creativity, and interest, so the student can reach their goals while enjoying the process of learning fundamentals. It should always be fun - it's music!

What do you teach?
We do not approach every student the same in regards to how and what we teach. Each student has different aspirations, background, and learning style. We make a point to get to know the student and learn what has inspired them to take guitar lessons. A ten-year-old student beginning music lessons for the first time will have a much different approach than a fifty-year-old who studied guitar earlier in life. The goal of Providence Guitar Academy is to inspire and promote a deep love of music and to help you establish skills in a fun and interactive way so that you can start making music. We balance musicianship and fun by making sure that each lesson you are challenged with a new technical or theory concept, but always end with something fun such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of guitar method books to accomplish this and encourage students to bring CDs or their iPod to their lesson to learn their favorite tunes.
